19. Danny Ings
Too bad Ings got hurt during Klopp’s first training session. You saw what the manager did to help Lallana? It would have been similar for Ings. It’s not like either player necessarily needed help, but Lallana had his strengths accentuated by Klopp and that’s what would have happened for Ings.
The striker works tirelessly and chases every ball, he plays on the front foot which is exactly how Klopp molded Liverpool to play. He was only able to make nine appearances and he scored three goals.
The fact that Ings was able to come back and make one appearance after rupturing his ACL just north of six months later is beautiful. A true testament to that work rate. We’ll see what comes of him with a full season under Klopp.
