8. Loris Karius

Liverpool needed a goalkeeper. Fans clamored for a top level, proven keeper but would have accepted anyone who wasn’t called “Simon Mignolet” or “Adam Bogdan”.

They signed Loris Karius, a player not many knew of before he was linked with the club. Well, the 22 year old has been a regular in the Bundesliga for a few years, a rarity for a goalie at his age, and was voted the second best keeper in the Bundesliga behind Manuel Neuer. These facts were boosted by the superficial notion that he may well be the most beautiful man ever.

Karius had zero errors leading to goals this season. Mignolet had four, and that doesn’t count the shots that he could/should have saved.

I can’t wait to see the first match of the season that Karius is starting in goal and Mignolet (hopefully) isn’t at the club or pouting on the bench. It’ll be beautiful.
