Winner: Rest ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League season

Not many Liverpool players have played, which isn’t necessarily a great thing for the stature of the club but it mitigates the injury and fatigue risks ahead of next season. It’s as if Klopp called all the managers to obviate those risks and gave each of his players a minutes restriction.

From a club perspective, it’s really not the worst thing in the world. What happens if Divock Origi would play and pick up a nasty injury? Or if Emre Can was an integral part to the German run to the final, would he be fit and ready for the beginning of the league campaign?

Yes, all of these issues are peripheral and we’re really clutching at straws here, but damnit it’s so hard to find a few W’s for Liverpool here. Tough times.
