Liverpool predicted XI vs Tranmere: First preseason game
By Tom Bogert
Liverpool play their first preseason game ahead of the 2016-17 season. They kick things off against Tranmere Rovers, here’s how they might lineup.
It’s Liverpool match day. Isn’t that weird to say?
It feels like just two weeks ago they were losing in the Europa League final to Sevilla. The Euros are still ongoing, though the last of the Liverpool contingent was just knocked out. Those players will join preseason late.
Jurgen Klopp decided to play a lot of preseason games, the club’s most since Gerard Houllier. It’s fun for fans because we can’t watch training sessions, but we can watch preseason games.
But predicting a lineup for preseason games, especially the first one, is a specious endeavor. Because of the lack of genuine knowledge as to who might play, this is the team we want to see with the players that are around. It’s still likely a lot will start, and all should play in general, but I’m hedging myself here.
Liverpool travel to play Tranmere Rovers, which has to be a beautiful feeling for the players who are currently being worked into the ground by Klopp to get in optimal physical fitness. For when they’re playing against Tranmere, they won’t be running sprints.
Liverpool’s predicted XI. 4-2-3-1.
