CB Dejan Lovren

Lovren isn’t supposed to be here right now. He should be enjoying some time off after Croatia exited the Euros, but he wasn’t brought. Because he enjoyed a public rift with his manager.

The Liverpool central defender told the manager that if he wasn’t going to be the first choice defender then he doesn’t want to go. The manager took him up on that, and didn’t bring him. That’s why he was able to join up with Liverpool’s preseason as early as he did and why he has the opportunity to forge a partnership with Joel Matip already.
