It’s brilliant to see Dingsy back on the pitch and the scoresheet. Could any player have benefited more from not playing? He seemed to be deified by supporters and any deficiencies in his game forgotten.

Fans were clamoring for his return and his monstrous work ethic was being rewarded. A fantastic story that he was able to finish the season with a return to the Premier League in a cameo.

Ings did his best to continue to clam up the furor by scoring against Tranmere. With a preseason as Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi on break, it’ll be the summer of Ings.
