With Mamadou Sakho about to return from his drug ban, it’ll be curious to see what central defenders Jurgen Klopp pairs in each half for their preseason games.

Last game it was Lovren and Joel Matip, it appears that’ll continue today against Fleetwood.

That’s an interesting battle to keep an eye on this preseason, who will be Klopp’s first choice defense pairing? With Sakho getting a late start, Matip and Lovren have the inside track.

With Matip being brought in by Klopp, conventional wisdom would lead you to believe that the Cameroonian is a certainty to be in the team, it just depends who will be next to him, whether it’s Lovren or Sakho.
