4. Joe Allen /// Joined: August, 2012

So young, so innocent. No facial hair or flow, Allen looks a different man.

This was Joe Allen circa 2012 when he was 22 and Brendan Rodgers’ boy wonder. It hasn’t particularly worked out at Liverpool since the move, but Allen has gained momentum since the winter that his Liverpool career may well continue.

When Klopp took over, Allen’s transfer away from the club seemed nothing more than a formality. Then classy performances towards the end of the season as well as a fantastic Euro 2016 campaign and Allen may stick around longer some.

The biggest issue for Allen is he could want definite first team football, where he’d get at a midtable club or one pushing on the outskirts of Europe, but probably not Liverpool where they have Jordan Henderson, Emre Can and James Milner ahead of him as well as the newly signed Marko Grujic.

In his four years, Allen’s made 129 appearances for Liverpool.
