Substitutes

Simon Mignolet

He’s not awful, he’s just leaky. When he plays well, he can stop shots in style and help us win games – its just a shame he’s about as commanding as a potato.

Joel Matip

Our new centre-back could easily be in this team if it wasn’t for the partnership which has developed between Lovren and Sakho. His height will help erase our set-piece struggles.

Joe Gomez

A versatile player who can cover most of the defensive positions. If Gomez is fit he can challenge Alberto Moreno and be a key substitute if injuries occur.

Lucas Leiva

I still don’t want Lucas to leave unless we sign a quality holding midfielder. He makes the bench as a more defensive midfield substitute, who’s experience can help the side in both midfield and centre-back.

Georginio Wijnaldum

This signing is all but announced, and Wijnaldum could be brought  on to play anywhere in midfield. He played best last season when out of the left, but he obviously won’t be keeping Coutinho out of this team. While he can play in centre-mid, I don’t think he’ll contribute in the ways Can and Henderson could.

Adam Lallana

Another versatile player who could be substituted on into the attacking midfield. Klopp really likes Lallana, and he presses better than most if that’s what the game needs.

Divock Origi

If Origi continues to develop, we could have a real talent on our hands. He can bring goals, and moves better than Daniel Sturridge, meaning he could be the key to unlocking opposing defences next season.
