How nice is it to see the beautiful silhouette of Karius in net rather than Simon Mignolet? Oh, it’s wonderful.

The young keeper was relatively unknown to the casual Liverpool fan before signing him and he’s impressed so far during the preseason. Ahead of him in this teamsheet is the familiar back four of Clyne-Lovren-Sakho-Moreno who played together last season before Sakho was wrongfully banned by UEFA, cutting his season short.

If Matip needs a rest, is hurt or is out of form, Sakho and Lovren had the beginnings of a budding partnership last season.

Ahead of them is a tireless midfield of Henderson, Milner and Wijnaldum.

Henderson and Milner will largely be deeper than Wijnaldum will be, as the Dutchman will push forward and look to get on the scoresheet whenever he can. With him, there’s another regular source of goals in the team, alleviating the pressure from Coutinho to always inspire the team as well as taking some pressure off a young striker playing alone. Mane helps a lot, too.
