Liverpool preseason/July squad rankings: Who’s king?

3. Daniel Sturridge

Sturridge may not be accustomed to being the tertiary figure in the team, but after the end of last season where Origi was being preferred to him more often than imagined as well as his late start to preseason, he’ll have to settle here as the club rolls toward the start of the season.

The striker is still the man at Liverpool. He’s the best striker at the club and will bang in goals left right and center if fit.

That caveat is so frustrating for a player so good. Last season he was largely fit once Klopp took over and he’s rolled through the summer injury free, ditto for the preseason. I just want to see him play 30+ games again and see how many goals he scores, he deserves that chance.
