Liverpool predicted XI vs Barcelona: First team tuneup

The defender joined Liverpool this summer and will walk straight into the first team as he has done this preseason before picking up a small injury.

Matip will hopefully begin to solve some of Liverpool’s issues in both 18 yard boxes this season on set pieces, attacking and defending. The 6’4″ Cameroonian central defender is a menace attacking the ball on a set piece going forward.

Unfortunately, with Mignolet still in goal plus the broken system the club is using, he probably won’t be able to solve defensive woes on dead balls. Sigh.
