CB Dejan Lovren

Thankfully for Lovren, his facial structure defended his face to the foreign attack from Karius’ fist and his armor functioned properly, allowing him to be fit. The Croatian will get the first chance at partnering Matip.

Lovren really came on last season as an indispensable member of the first team, if he can keep up that sort of form then Liverpool should be in good hands defensively when Karius returns from his injury.

The defender is set to anchor Liverpool’s defense again.
