LB Alberto Moreno

Speaking of adequate defensive ability, it’s not Moreno. Well, not reliable at least.

Moreno is just as likely to come flying in for a heroic block, or chasing someone down when he seemed much too far adrift, as he is to doze off and miss his mark, or sprint forward and fail to win the ball.

This season is a big one for Moreno. With world renowned scapegoat Skrtel now departed, Moreno has taken that mantle and cannot hide. Anytime Liverpool concede and he’s anywhere within reason of blame, it’ll be him. Matip and Karius will get the benefit of the doubt as they’re new while Lovren and Clyne have earned a few mulligans.

Still makes more sense than putting Milner here.
