Jordan Henderson – 5.5
The main problem here is that Jordan Henderson was obviously out of possession. The majority of the blame has fallen onto Henderson, who was left as the deepest midfielder picking up after the fact that Lallana and Wijnaldum constantly pressed on the attack. He had no defensive midfield support, and was left looking nervous and useless on the ball.
Jurgen Klopp made a bad call leaving him as a holding midfield, especially without the likes of Emre Can to provide some extra cover. The level of criticism and even abuse towards Henderson is crazy, and I still fully support him.
If played alongside the right players in the right formations, Henderson can and will return to the level of form he showed when he was instrumental to our push for the title – which we lost partially because of his injury.
