After proving fitness and (relative) match sharpness during the week, Matip should slot into the starting XI in the Premier League two weeks after he was supposed to. Pesky ankle injuries, ruining all the fun.

The Cameroonian will likely play as many games that he’s available for in the league starting here after the injury break. If he’s fit, stays injury free and Cameroon doesn’t have the deepest run in the African Cup of Nations this winter, then he should be staring down the barrel of at least 30 Premier League starts.
