Mane was sorely missed against Burnley, even if there wasn’t any space in behind to run into. He showed against Burton that he has the ability to break down defenses, too.

The inherent fear that came with Mane’s signing is that there were doubts he was just a fast pair of boots. Similar to Jesus Navas. Sure, he’s lightning quick, but does he have the skill to match?

Well, after a preseason and two competitive appearances, it’s looking like yes. Whatever side he ends up on, whether it’s against Kyle Walker or Danny Rose, it’ll be the rare occasion for the fullbacks that they’ll face a player that’s faster than they are.
