Liverpool travel to London to play undefeated Chelsea in this week’s marquee Friday Night Football match. Here’s the XI who should play.

With traditional English powerhouses Liverpool and Chelsea having either of the European competitions kicking off this week pass them by for this season, they were freed up for Friday Night Football.

Usually with all the anterior competitions that the biggest clubs are in, Friday and Monday night matches can be populated with the likes of Sunderland or Stoke City or any other traditionally mid table club who don’t have the distraction of midweek European football.

The best news for fans of these two clubs is it’s just one less day to wait to consume their team. Also, for whoever loses, it only rots the Friday night rather than a full day Saturday.

Nah, scratch that, now it’s liable to ruin the whole weekend. #Sports!

Depending on Dejan Lovren’s eye socket, Jurgen Klopp should have just about his full team to pick from. Emre Can and Philippe Coutinho are in full training ditto for Loris Karius, ahead of schedule form his broken hand.

Now, Klopp has a selection dilemma. After such a thoroughly dominating performance against Leicester, it’ll be tough for Klopp to leave any one of those 11 starters on the bench this time around even though starting XI mainstays Can and Coutinho were left out last week.

We answer the tough questions, though. Liverpool’s predicted XI against Chelsea.

It’s time. With apologies to Simon Mignolet– you’ve had your chances, but it’s Karius’ chance now.

Mignolet hasn’t been bad this season but this is a body-of-work type of situation here. The Belgian has burned through his goodwill and equity at the club while Karius still has the honeymoon phase at Liverpool.

Like, Karius didn’t play a competitive second at the club and fans were distraught when he went down with his broken hand. His transfer was met with furor for no other reason than he was a keeper that we all assumed with usurp Mignolet.

But Karius is back in full training and made the bench against Leicester. He’s now been back for more than a full week, if he’s ready, he should play.
