CM Jordan Henderson

Liverpool have a midfield/attack problem. Well– a selection problem, and a good one at that.

With Can returning to training this week, Friday may be a little too soon for him to play from the opening whistle. Last month Can was close to returning from injury and then he started in a League Cup game against Burton and he hasn’t been seen since then.

Maybe he’ll make the bench and get 20 minutes (because Klopp doesn’t seem to believe in the 60th minute substitution) to give his return from injury this time the training wheels.

With all that said, it’d be tough on Henderson to be rotated, as it would for anyone else who took part in the 4-1 drubbing of Leicester last weekend.

Henderson misplaced just two passes last week but he misplaced one horrifically timed shot from 12 yards out. That was his only real mistake, and it came when the game was just about dead and gone (and already would have been 100% had Lucas’ blunder not have happened.)

Has the Henderson bandwagon picked up more stragglers yet? I wouldn’t know, I sit in the passenger seat and look forward.
