Matip retains his place no question, as will continue to happen in the league for as long as he’s fit this season.

The Cameroonian defender has looked every part of what we hoped he’d be when his signing was confirmed and he’s done the impossible: given the Liverpool backline a false feeling of safety. That facade has the chance to become reality the more he plays next to Dejan Lovren and in front of Karius.
