CB Joel Matip

Matip seems a real coup to have gotten on a free deal. How much would he have sold for on the open market this season? £25million? That may even be a conservative figure for a 25 year old center back with a wealth of experience in the Bundesliga, Champions League and two World Cups.

Klopp said he admired Matip when he played for Borussia Dortmund’s rival Schalke and knew he’d never be able to bring him to Dortmund, but had him in mind should he have ever left that job.

Matip beats out Daley Blind and Dejan Lovren.
