Since arriving for FREE Joel Matip has been our strongest defender – by a mile. He’s helped prevent our usual set-piece exposure, and has excelled against stronger opposition. His intelligent play has improved Liverpool’s defence, but the fact that we’re still conceding more than the other top teams is worrying. Matip has been an improvement to our defence, but he’s also highlighted the need for further additions.
