Liverpool, literally a goal away from perfection. A goal conceded short of keeping a clean-sheet and collecting all the points. Or, a goal shy of beating Man City at the Etihad Stadium, 2-1.

Three words to describe Liverpool’s three meetings in March. Emphatic, Unattractive, and emotionally draining, respectively. Beating the Gunners in emphatic style, 3-1. Followed by an unattractive home victory over Burnley, 2-1. All capped off with one of the best top-four meetings, where Liverpool drew a goal a piece, 1-1 to Man City.

Seven points from the nine available for the taking. Is a job well done by Klopp and his men. Klopp’s best month since the turn of the year. Character and perseverance the key and the change in performances. God willing the international break doesn’t break our stride and kill the momentum we as a club have at the moment.

Major talking points to take from this month’s fixtures, positives outweighing the negatives. Hoping all of Reds on international duty, return unharmed, in similar form, and ready to take on Everton in one of the biggest derbies, considering the two managers in charge at the two clubs.

Talking points from the month of March:

  • Liverpool unbeaten against the top-six clubs in the campaign. This alone is an indication of how the football has improved under Klopp.
  • We are able to dig deep and come away with a victory, even when we not the best team on the pitch.
  • Can is a pivotal figure in the midfield for the club. At the young age of 23, the club has to work hard to keep him at Anfield.
  • The defense has only leaked a goal a game. Three goals in three games. Pulling off more saves, blocks, and tackles at the back, have limited the number of goals conceded.
  • The attack seemingly tearing opposition’s defense apart. Scoring six goals in three games. Averaging two goals a game.
  • Liverpool can outplay and unlock teams who sit back.

One month and Klopp’s men have improved in almost every department. Evidence the team wants to make and occupy one of those top-four spots up for grabs.

Hopefully, we keep building on this major March month. Come April, we prove we not the fools in search for European football.
