A weekend working in Liverpool’s favour – Spurs the only team not to drop points
Liverpool sits behind Chelsea and Spurs. Making Spurs the only team we could possibly overtake. Chelsea however, has matches which control the fate of the teams below them in the other six slots below them.
Chelsea – 1st Place | Home | vs | Away |
05-Apr | Chelsea | vs | Man City |
08-Apr | Bournemouth | vs | Chelsea |
16-Apr | Man United | vs | Chelsea |
25-Apr | Chelsea | vs | Southampton |
30-Apr | Everton | vs | Chelsea |
Spurs – 2nd Place | Home | vs | Away |
05-Apr | Swansea City | vs | Spurs |
08-Apr | Spurs | vs | Watford |
15-Apr | Spurs | vs | Bournemouth |
22-Apr | Crystal Palace | vs | Spurs |
30-Apr | Spurs | vs | Arsenal |
With the league title 10 points beyond our reach, Chelsea is the team who could do Liverpool the most favors. Chelsea as said earlier, play Man City and then Man United.
If they win, great stuff for Liverpool! If they lose, there will be a number of movements at the top of the table. I’m banking on Chelsea victories for both fixtures.
Spurs have a smooth run in the final stages of the campaign, but that’s until they meet Arsenal. If the Gunners take all the points, it allows for Liverpool to jump into 2nd place maybe. If Spurs lose, they help open that gap between Liverpool and Arsenal.

This has to be one of the most intense top four battle in the history of the Premier League. Hopefully, Liverpool’s squad has what it takes to fight till the end. Without Sadio Mane, this will be an even tougher test.
