Player Ratings: Liverpool’s Thrilling Stoke Turnaround!
Substitution – Philippe Coutinho: 7.7 (Subbed on 45″)
The difference between no points and three points. Coutinho entered the game as if he was playing the 45 minutes before the halftime break. A man of the match performance, but I gave this one to the Liverpool’s stopper. Purely because Liverpool is accustomed to scoring, but keeping the opposition out, normally a job not carried out by the defensive line. With his goal yesterday, he has now overtaken Juninho and becomes the highest scoring Brazilian in the Premier League History.
Substitution – Roberto Firmino: 7.6 (Subbed on 45″)
What a strike, what a strike, what a strike! Direct play the fashion in which the best goal of the game, in fact, the best goal of the weekend was scored! The hunger, the drive, the togetherness the two represented, shifted the match in our favour. What the two was yesterday, was fantastic beyond measure. In midweek, Klopp criticised his players saying, the team lacks experience. They have definitely turned that statement on its head, coming back from behind. Character and team spirit at its best.
Substitution – Daniel Sturridge: 6.1 (Subbed on 68″)
I’m just happy to see him back on the field. He had an opportunity to get a goal, but he hasn’t been playing for some time, so it’s understandable why he never made good with a beautiful chance to take Stoke City’s defence once again, out of the game. Let’s hope to see this man for the remainder of the season, always great to have him as an option.
