CM – Emre Can: 6.5

Lost in the first half, at the peak of his powers in the second half. Emre appeared immensely comfortable in the quarterback role. The man who started it all used an intelligent piece of play. Collecting the ball on the edge of the box. Where LFC would have usually played the ball back to the midfield for buildup play. Emre did differently and caused major confusion in Stoke’s defence with a well-lofted ball into the box. The ball eventually fell in the lap of teammate Coutinho who put the ball at the back of the net for Liverpool’s first goal.
