Liverpool Showing Determination for Transfer Target, Kalidou Kouilbaly

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Liverpool are tracking Napoli defender, Kalidou Koulibaly. The Reds are not the only club with interest Koulibaly is also targeted by Chelsea.

Metro reporting, this is not the first time a Premier League club has targeted Koulibaly, during the last summer window the Napoli defender almost joined Chelsea. Antonio Conte has great interest in the defender and regrets missing out on him last summer.

Klopp Showing Determination in Upcoming Window

This season in Serie A, Koulibaly has made 23 appearances, scoring 1 goal, and winning 51% of his duels. What impresses scouts the most is his 90% passing accuracy and his shut down defense. He averages 7 important defensive actions per game.

In the Champions League, Koulibaly has played every match and continued to show his defensive prowness with an 88% passing accuracy, while averaging 6 crucial defensive actions.

At just 25 years-old, Koulibaly is now drawing interest from Liverpool. Klopp wants to improve his squad ahead of Champions League competition, and making a run for the Premier League title. To do that Klopp knows he needs better defenders.

The “suggested retail price” for Koulibaly is £60million, which is a pretty price to pay for both the Reds and Chelsea.

In addition, reports still claim that Virgil van Dijk is Klopp’s top priority. But as any fan knows plans do not always go as planned in the transfer market. Southampton has been a feeding ground for the Reds in recent years and Klopp may pick up another young talent from The Saints.
