Mohamed Salah is currently undergoing his medical evaluation with Liverpool and is expected to complete his move to Anfield for a record £39 million.
The expected £39 million will exceed Andy Carroll’s signing in 2011. This is good news. A few weeks ago, Salah’s signing might not have happened, due to his high asking price. Thankfully, those wrinkles were ironed out and the Egyptian striker is almost officially a Red!
Multiple news outlets are confirming this information, Sky Sports said that a “deal is done.” Liverpool fans are excited, but what is Jurgen Klopp getting in, Mohamed Salah?
A Deeper Look at Salah’s Statistics
Klopp is signing some immense potential in Salah, who is just 25 years-old and has already experienced success in top-flight football. Also, Salah has some Premier League experience, with Chelsea, who later loaned and sold him to Roma.
Last season (2016/2017) in Italian Serie A, Salah scored 15 goals, registered 11 assists, and shot with 57% accuracy. Not bad for just his second season in Serie A.
Before that, in 2015/2016, Salah scored 14 goals, registered 6 assists, and shot with 52% accuracy.
Over two seasons, Salah scored double digit in goals and saw a better than average shooting accuracy. Salah in his young career is showing that he can consistently score goals and keep the pace of the game on the front-foot.
Comparing Salah to Liverpool’s Stars
So how does Mohamed Salah compare to the Reds attacking line from last season? It seems that Salah will fit right in, especially with his effective left foot. Klopp has undoubtedly found something special here in the Egyptian striker.

On a per-game average Salah scored 0.48 goals, created 2.29 chances, and completed 0.35 assists. That would have lead all Reds players from last season.
Also, Salah would have led the Reds in scoring last season, with two more than the Little Magician, Philippe Coutinho.
Klopp and Liverpool are acquiring a “force to be wrecking with” on the pitch. Salah is adding more dynamism to an already exciting Liverpool attacking line.
Now, the football world just needs to site and wait until the signing is officially announced.
