A new rumor of a bid for Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa; update on the Naby Keita transfer; the latest on the future of Kylian Mbappe.
We are now less than a month from the start of the season. With only two transfers in so far there is much work for Liverpool to do in the transfer market. While most of us are not yet in panic mode, there is an eagerness to see some business done. We have a transfer roundup of all the latest news on Liverpool’s top targets.
Liverpool transfer rumor: Angel Correa
Reports in AS say that Liverpool have put in a £25 million bid for Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa. While deals for other players stall more rumors are appearing linking us to new players. The combination of Liverpool having money to spend and Antoine Griezmann staying at Atletico Madrid has meant Angel Correa to the Reds has become the latest speculation. Liverpool transfer target: Kylian Mbappe
Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool officials are on record with their desire to sign the French wonderkid. The problem is that every other big club in Europe wants him too. His boyhood fan team Real Madrid remain the front runners but a possible move to the Premier League was thought to be between Liverpool and Arsenal. Now there is confirmed interest from Manchester City. They are working hard to get him this summer and almost certainly have the cash to trump the Reds. A very long shot now looks like a Hail Mary.
Liverpool transfer target: Naby Keita
This is the one we all want but is proving impossible to get. The latest is a series of tweets by Bundesliga journalist Raphael Honigstein. He is reiterating RB Leipzig’s stance of not wanting to sell. Also he speaks about how Keita cannot force a move through with a ‘transfer request’. In fact the only thing such a statement would do mean Keita would miss out on some bonuses. They don’t need to sell, nor do they want to sell. Unfortunately for us this one looks less likely by the day. The player would have to risk losing money and alienating fans to push this one closer to becoming a reality.
