This a roundup of the latest Liverpool transfer news. We have updates on the Virgil van Dijk saga, Coutinho’s future and more.

As Liverpool look to finish off their preseason trip to Germany we look at what is going on in the transfer market. We are now in the last month of the transfer window and there is only 10 days before the Premier League season kicks. There is bound to be activity before the window closes. Here is a summary of the current Liverpool transfer news:

Virgil van Dijk:

While the Naby Keita looks dead the van Dijk saga rumbles on. The player is continuing his strike and training alone. After missing the team’s Sky walk in video shoot rumors continue to fly. The player himself has reiterated his desire to leave and that Anfield is his chosen destination. When a player, especially a captain, is determined to leave they usually get their way. The huge problem is that is Liverpool he wants to join. It would be a terrible PR move for the Saints and would cast a cloud over Mauricio Pellegrino’s Premier League preparations.

Philippe Coutinho:

Nothing has changed from Liverpool’s end. Jurgen Klopp maintains the club’s stance that Coutinho is not for the sale. However the sale of Barcelona’s Neymar to PSG is going to happen this week. Then we will begin to see how determined Barca really are to get our Brazilian magician. I believe the club when they say he is staying. But it is going to be a long, nervy August for Liverpool fans.

Alberto Moreno:

Depending who you talk to Moreno’s excellent showing against Bayern Munich has either won him a squad place this season or given his suitors a great audition. Napoli are also playing at the Audi Cup so got to see him up close. While Liverpool have not made any progress in the transfer window in the last few weeks the hope is to make at least two more signings. If they can add a defender and a midfielder then it is inevitable the Moreno will leave. Though if the club do not get their targets Moreno has given himself a stay of execution with his Munich display.
