Liverpool fans can’t believe that Mohamed Salah has scooped another end-of-month award.

The Egyptian forward’s breakaway goal against Arsenal was voted as the goal of the month, and some Reds aren’t happy about it.

That award goes hand-in-hand with Salah’s player of the month announcement, which irritated sections of the fan base as well.

To be fair, the goal does show excellent composure in a one-on-one situation and breathtaking pace, but should that make it the best effort scored all month?

The problem with having a method such as a fan vote is that they can often be hijacked by people who vote, not on quality, but for other reasons.

Sometimes it is to bring about the funniest outcome, and sometimes it is to ensure someone of a certain nationality wins the award.

On this occasion it seems as if Egyptian fans have flooded the voting process to ensure their idol was crowned with as many accolades as possible. This eloquent Reddit posts explains why.

You can’t deny that Salah has had a good introduction to life on Anfield. He looks miles different to the player Chelsea brought to England from Basel and his time in Italy has served him well.
