Heading out on loan is an important part in a young player’s development and Liverpool have taken that route with a number of youngsters.
Unlike some teams, manager Jurgen Klopp hasn’t sent droves out down the league to play their trade – preferring to keep them around the first team.
Players such as Joe Gomez and Danny Ings could probably have found game time away from Anfield, but for one reason or another chose to stick around.
One footballer who did seek time away is goalkeeper Shamal George, who made his league debut for Carlisle United in their 2-0 loss to Coventry City last Tuesday before dropping down to the bench for the Cumbrians’ 1-1 draw against Barnet on Sunday.

Ryan Kent played the second 45 minutes for Bundesliga outfit Freiburg as they got hammered 4-0 by Bayer Leverkusen. The winger came on when the deficit was 3-0 and failed to help turn things around.
One of the more successful loan players this campaign has been Spanish midfielder Pedro Chirivella, who completed another 90 minutes for Dutch side Willem II as they beat Roda JC.
One player who Liverpool fans are excited about is Sheyi Ojo, and the Fulham loanee had a mixed week. After playing the full game and being credited with an assist against Hull City on Tuesday, Ojo featured for the full 90 and hit the bar during the Cottagers 2-1 loss to Burton Albion.
Belgian striker Divock Origi started for the second time against Wolfsburg but went goalless again as they lost 1-0 to Stuttgart. Origi hasn’t had the start he would have hoped for after a loss and a draw, but there is plenty of time left in the season to pick things up.
Welsh midfielder Jordan Williams continued his encouraging start to the campaign with Rochdale as he completed another 90 minutes in a losing cause. MK Dons managed to come away from the fixture with a 3-2 win.
21-year-old midfielder Connor Randall was left out of the squad for Hearts of Midlothian’s 2-1 win over Hamilton Academical. Randall had previously played in every game for Hearts so his omission comes as a surprise.

Forest Green Rovers took on Port Vale in League Two and 18-year-old Toni Gomes has left out of the matchday squad, while Brazilian Allan is yet to feature for Cyprus First Division team Apollon Limassol.
