The internet is ripping Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to shreds over his Liverpool performance against Leicester in the Carabao Cup.

The former Arsenal man started his first game for the Reds and things could have gone better for him.

Bad passing, awful corners, timid dribbling. Oxlade-Chamberlain put on a King Power horrorshow for the whole world to see.

To make matters worse, the Foxes crashed Liverpool out of the League Cup and kept a clean sheet, giving manager Jurgen Klopp even more problems than he thought he had.

If the defence isn’t working, you’d better make sure things are going well at the other end but this is a second game inside three days where the attackers have missed a cornucopia of chances.

Of course, the Ox can’t be blamed for those but his take his performance in isolation and it was an absolute shocker – so of course the internet is ripping into him.

Gunners fans can barely disguise their glee at the sight of the former player failing to deliver the goods, while Arsene Wenger must have watched the game with a curious half-smile.

All is not lost, but that doesn’t impact the brutality of the online mob. So read through the below comments and weep.

Oxlade-Chamberlain can easily turn things around. He’s a good player who is young enough to improve enormously.

The move was also a good one for him as it seemed like things had stagnated under Wenger and in London – but the Ox will need to put in a series of excellent showings before people start to believe he’ll become the real deal.
