Liverpool legend Didi Hamann has lost followers on Twitter after he tweeted about Dejan Lovren.
Defender Lovren has revealed how he has been taking painkillers every game to get through the full 90 minutes, and the former German midfielder had a dig at the Croatian international on social media.
The Liverpool Echo reported how the former Southampton man has had problems with his whole body and has had to resort to taking five pills to cope with Achilles and back problems.
But then Hamann decided it would be a good idea to say he needed to take eight pills just to get through watching Lovren’s performances via Twitter, something his 701,000 followers thought was beyond the pale.
I'm taking 8 pills to be able to watch him every week https://t.co/ybqhfUfeId

The 44-year-old joined Liverpool from Newcastle United for £8m in July 1999 and went on to make 174 league appearances and score eight goals.
In 2006 Hamann left Anfield for Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer, before finally heading to Manchester City and MK Dons.

He has been a vocal critic of the Reds in the past, and a quick google of his name brings up a number of articles in which Hamann has a dig at Liverpool’s transfer activity, their style of play and the ownership.
But has his criticism of Lovren gone too far? Many on Merseyside seem to think that tweeting something so insensitive was incredibly bad form of the German, especially when the player has been going beyond the pain barrier and putting his body on the line for the side.
Liverpool take on Newcastle United on Sunday at the late kick off, and there are no fresh injury concerns to speak of – meaning the defender should play.
Liverpools very own Katie Hopkins. You weren't all that sunshine.

I agree, I think he likes the attention. I've unfollowed now, no respect from me at all.

Harsh. Disappointed with comment. We should be encouraging our players. They need confidence
