14: v Ludogorets 2014/15
This is Henderson’s only Champions League goal to date. The Reds were back in the competiton for the first time in a few seasons. This 2-2 draw to European minnows Ludogorets was crucial in Liverpool failing to make it out of the group stage.
Raheem Sterling broke away midway through the first half and found himself in an acre of space. Rather than take it on himself he spots Henderson’s gut busting run on the right-wing. Sterling threaded the ball to the back post for Henderson to tuck away like a striker from a tight angle.
The goal gave Liverpool the lead after they had been down after three minutes. A Rickie Lambert equalizer restored parity before Henderson struck. A late goal from Ludogorets took a share of the spoils for the Bulgarians. It would end up costing Liverpool dearly.
