8: v Notts County 2013/14

This is Henderson’s only goal in the League Cup. The game itself was a victory all be it a frustratingly difficult one against lower league opposition. The game had gone into extra time after Liverpool had let a two goal lead slip. Sturridge had restored the lead before Henderson sealed it with this great goal deep into extra time.

Jordan Ibe holds off a defender well before playing a ball to his left to Henderson. He sees the space in front of him an drives forward. The center back comes out to meet him but Henderson plays very deft pass around him.

He picks up his own ball on the edge of the box and opens his body. He then side foots home a lovely finish to the right hand side of the goal to send Liverpool through to the next round of the League Cup.
