Under fire Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is receiving support from all sides as his team slumps to one win in the last seven games.

Liverpool are in a dip. Only one win in the last seven games has meant the early campaign optimism has all but evaporated to the reality of the long hard slog of the season. With the Reds’ defense error prone and panicky and the attack stuttering along, Jürgen Klopp is coming under more criticism than at any other point in his Liverpool tenure.

However, in recent days there has been a wave of support for the German manager. Media analysts, ex-pros and club legends are all declaring their confidence in Klopp. Many believe it is simply a matter of time before he gets it right.

Mats Hummels, who worked with Klopp at Dortmund, says “the team will get out of this situation”. His assessment is that although it is not where Liverpool would want to be that the reality is that it isn’t actually too bad. He has a point. While the Anfield side have only one win in their last seven they have also only lost 2 games all year. One with 10 men and the other with a weakened side in the League Cup.

Ex-Liverpool captains Steven Gerrard and Graeme Souness have also backed the manager. Current  Liveprool Under 18’s manager Gerrard thinks the Reds are only ‘one big win’ away from kicking on to a good run.

Media analyst Souness believes that Klopp is ‘the right man for the job‘. He cites the manager’s character and experience as reasons for optimism. Klopp can draw on those reserves for new ideas and inspiration to help the Reds achieve their goals this season.
