Michael Robinson

Signed while Hodgson was still at the club, Michael Robinson didn’t have a good time of it either and was shipped on after two years.

Not that fit, not that skillful, it’s remarkable that he was ever brought to Anfield. But after two years the Melwood hierarchy cut their losses and sent Robinson on his way.

Just 30 appearances and six goals in the league are all she wrote, as the striker was moved on to Queens Park Rangers and then Osasuna in Spain.

Despite his modest success, the £200,000 man still managed to snag 24 caps for the Republic of Ireland and scored four times.
