Frank McGarvey

Scotland international Frank McGarvey was so bad he never played a single game for Liverpool despite signing for £300,000 in 1979.

Despite that, Celtic somehow big a Scottish record £270,000 for McGarvey and he was sold just 10 months later.

McGarvey did eventually prove that he was a player of some caliber and he hit the back of the net 78 times in 168 appearances.

His record wasn’t too bad, but he clearly wasn’t good enough to be on Merseyside and the fact that he didn’t play in a single game in 10 months is testament to that.
