Liverpool worked hard for a 0-0 draw against a defensive Manchester United in the Premier League. Here are our Liverpool player ratings from the big game:

The good new: We are better than Manchester United. That was clear from this game with the chances we created and the dominate midfield performance. The defense kept the free scoring United firmly in check

The bad news: It is now one win in eight games. Once again we made good chances that we couldn’t finish. That is very frustrating in a game where we defended and created well.

I have never seen a Manchester United side so frightened of a Liverpool team. Not even David Moyes set up his United side in such a negative way against us. Jose Mourinho does this against top sides. Parks the proverbial bus and hopes that they can nick a goal. But there were no goals to be nicked from Liverpool today.

Liverpool kept Romelu Lukaku fully under wraps – just like we predicted – and David De Gea was the difference between one and three points for the Reds.

Here are our Liverpool player ratings:

Goalkeeper

7. His first real contribution was crucial with a great save to his left from a powerful Lukaku strike. That was pretty much his last contribution. Manchester United only managed that one shot on goal and Mignolet spent most of the game as a sweeper option for the side to pass to.. Goalkeeper. Liverpool. SIMON MIGNOLET
