Liverpool Player Ratings: Forwards

Right Forward. Liverpool. MOHAMED SALAH. 7. Frighted United all day with his running and movement. Nicked the ball off Coutinho for the chance after De Gea’s save from Matip and put the shot just wide. He is certainly in a dip with his finishing. Still making all the right decisions but needs to regain the ruthlessness that we saw at the beginning of the season. Made way for Oxlade-Chamberlain late on.

8. Had a wonderfully inventive game, creating a host of opportunities. Kept drawing the United center backs out of shape into the midfield. Still too keen to end his goal drought. He is shooting too early with no calmness or confidence. Lonked up well with Coutinho all game but we did miss the incision of Sadio Mane.. Center Forward. Liverpool. ROBERTO FIRMINO

By far the best technical player on the pitch. Delicious through balls, tricky turns and quick feet. Man Utd concentrated a lot of their energy in making sure that Coutinho didn’t have much room. He only needs an inch of space so they couldn’t quite shut him down but he also could not get into a position to shoot very often.. Left Forward. Liverpool. PHILIPPE COUTINHO. 8

Substitutes

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6

A wonderful cross immediately followed by a badly over hit one. Had little time for a cameo. Desperately needs more minutes.

Daniel Sturridge – 6

Tried to make an opportunity for himself but the massed ranks of United defenders made that near impossible.

Domini Solanke – n/a

Came on for Firmino with 3 minutes left and had no time to  impose himself.
