Liverpool have got a major boost from the news that two key Spurs players will be missing from the Reds’ matchup with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

Moussa Dembele has been suffering with a hip injury that has kept him out for most of this season. He was on the road to recovery before aggravating the injury while training in Madrid before Spurs’ clash with Real in the Champions League.

Tottenham anchor man Victor Wanyama has been struggling with a knee problem and is now set to see another specialist in his attempt to get fit.

While it is sad for those players it great news for the Reds. That duo were key to Tottenham Hotspur’s strong season last year and were the midfield base that protected the back four and allowed Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli the freedom to go forward.

Now it will be the overrated Eric Dier and promising youngster Harry Winks marshaling the midfield for Tottenham. Delicious! Neither of those players has the ability, pace or discipline to mark Philippe Coutinho in the manner that Nemanja Matic managed for Manchester United last weekend.

It should also open up room on the left for Alberto Moreno to get forward and overwhelm the impressive Spurs back line.
