Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in the Barclays Premier League and will want to keep the good times rolling.

The Reds mauled Maribor in the Champions League and will be excited for their trip to Wembley to take on the London side.

While there can be too much emphasis placed on pre-match statistics, there is one that will really wind up Spurs’ fans.

Superstar striker Harry Kane, who played well during their European clash with Real Madrid, has never scored at home against Liverpool – tweeted the official account for the Premier League’s fantasy site.

As well as that, Kane is yet to score for his club at the home of English football in his 28 shots. Tottenham fans are not going to enjoy reading that.

The England international is extremely talented, but perhaps that shows there are chinks in his armour and teams that he doesn’t like facing.

And if the Reds can keep Spurs’ talisman from performing at his deadly best, they will shut off an important avenue of attack.

Of course, Mauricio Pochettino’s team still have dangerous players in other areas such as Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.

But with six goals in eight Premier League games, Kane is their most important player and the one they will struggle to replace the most.

Whatever defensive combination Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp comes up with will have to be on top form to deal with the threat, but they can take extra comfort from those pre-match stats.
