Liverpool fans have reacted with anger to Dejan Lovren’s poor performance against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Croatian defender was directly at fault for Spurs’ first two goals of the game and was hooked by an exasperated Jurgen Klopp after just 31 minutes.

Summer signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was the man chosen to replace the former Southampton player and Joe Gomez moved across to centre-back to complete the reshuffle.

Lovren has endured a tricky time at Anfield since his arrival after an impressive debut campaign for the Saints and is now the time to end his Merseyside pain?

Disappointingly, Klopp failed to strengthen at the back while the man Tottenham brought in from Ajax for £30 million, Davinson Sanchez, played well as part of the 3-5-2.

After watching the inept performance of Lovren verses how well the Spurs counterparts played, fans must be wondering why FSG didn’t also throw their hat into the ring for the Colombian.

This mauling comes on the back of two clean sheets and any new hopes of stability in defence have been completed shredded.

But the team have continually shown they are unable of shutting out good teams and commit too many mistakes.

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet was also at fault, while the back up option of Loris Karius doesn’t inspire confidence.

Liverpool fans were happy with Lovren was taken off by Klopp in the first half, so scroll down to see how they reacted.

The result leaves Liverpool down in ninth place, below Newcastle United and Burnley while Spurs are now level on points with Manchester United in third.

With two home games coming up, the Reds will need the full backing on Anfield to try and help end this malaise.
