Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster fired England to the U17 World Cup finals with a hat trick over Brazil.

Brewster opened the scoring, pouncing on his own rebound from a Hudson-Odoi cross to slot the ball past goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão. Despite having missed his first shot, Brewster showed lovely movement to get free from his marker before burying the second opportunity.

The 17-year old put England ahead once again in the 39th minute. Brewster sniffed out a chance in the box and promptly scored. It wasn’t the flashiest of goals, but Brewster once again sniffed out the chance and took it when he could.

Brewster completed his hat trick in the 77th minute, making a run to the far post to finish Emile Smith Rowe’s cross. The Liverpool youngster once again displayed fantastic movement and poaching ability, slipping in between Brazil’s right center back and right back.

This is Brewster’s second consecutive hat trick, having scored a hat trick in the quarterfinals against the United States. In five games, he has seven goals (six in the last two games) and one assist. It’s safe to say that his contribution for the Three Lions has been massive.

As we previously covered, Brewster was set for a bigger role after Jadon Sancho’s departure to Borussia Dortmund, but this eruption of goals was hard to imagine. England will now face either Spain or Mali in the U17 World Cup finals, with Brewster surely starting the game.

Should England win, this would complete a historic year for their men’s teams. In every age category from U17 to U21, England has either reached the finals or become champions in every major tournament so far this year.

When it comes to Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp is unlikely to rush Brewster into the first team given his youth and the plethora of attacking options in the squad. However, the youngster already has his manager’s attention and his future for the Reds looks bright.
