No. 2: Shots and Chances

Being wasteful is painful. Blowing your chances is infuriating. There have been Liverpool sides over the last couple of decades when you had no idea when your next chance would come. That is not the case for this Klopp team.

Liverpool rank second in the Premier League for shots with 184; only one shot behind Man City. Everyone considers that City attack to be an untouchable creation of Pep Guardiola’s genius. Yet we are only one shot away from them.

Having lots of shots doesn’t necessarily mean you are good. The quality of shots is as important as the quantity. Liverpool rank third for shots on target; 11 behind City and one behind Arsenal. We are not quite as accurate as City but we are not far off.

Goals are ultimately what matters. Not shots or shots on target. But we are a team that continues to create even when we are in a slump. That doesn’t dip at all. In fact we have created one more chance this season than City.

Arsenal sit first for chances created with 138 and we are, again, just one behind on 137 created. A team that can create at any time can score at any time. A team that can score any time can win any time.
