No.5: Fortress Anfield

Liverpool are yet to lose a game at Anfield this season. They only lost two home games in the Premier League last season. Two more than we would want, but still an excellent home record.

Jurgen Klopp has emphasized the importance of the collective. The connection between the players as a team and not individuals. Also the connection between the team and fans, that we are united as a club.

The manager speaks regularly in press conferences about the atmosphere and the fans bringing their support, loud and incessant. He has also been keen to encourage the fans to be patient and not get on the player’s backs when they make a mistake.

One of the reasons we don’t lose at home very often is because teams have stopped trying. This season’s home draws – Burnley and Manchester United – were perfect examples of teams sitting as deep as they can and hoping we will give them a goal or two.
