There is a video of Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan doing the rounds on the internet and fans are losing their nut.

Now, the footage is from last season – but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t deserve to be brought back into the limelight.

The incident in question is from the West Ham fixture when Dimi Payet was still pulling on his boots for the Hammers and Klavan absolutely owns him.

In all his time wearing a Reds shirt, the Estonian international will probably never pull anything off quite like this.

Given the fact that this lovely piece of skill was against one of the silkiest, most deadly attackers in the league at this time just makes it even more lovely to watch.

As Klavan collects the ball, Payet does what most would in that situation and follows the defender’s eyeline – only to find out that he has toying with the French international all along. Ps, if the GIF doesn’t work in this article, click here to view it in all its glory.

And as the former Bundesliga man smartly pulls the ball swiftly between his own legs and away from danger, the West Ham star can only trott on in what must have been disbelief. Arise, sir Lionel Klavan!

In times like this (these boring international breaks) an emergence of videos such as this one from the dusty archives should be celebrated and championed.

Liverpool are doing well, players are coming back from injury and the club’s ambitions are alive and kicking domestically and on the continent. Not only that, but Klavan is being remembered as the Prince of nice little twirly bits of skill. What a time to be alive!
