As Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho dropped a hint that he is ready to stay at Liverpool beyond this summer?

Speaking to the official club website, the Brazilian playmaker confessed that he has improved his game at Anfield – and said he wasn’t done yet.

“When I first came to England, there was so much to adapt to and learn. It was a completely different experience for me, but also a challenging, exciting one,” he explained.

In light of intense speculation that Barcelona are ready to mount another assault for his signature, and crumb of comfort that Coutinho can throw our way is much appreciated.

“Every year, I’ve felt like I’ve taken more on and become better, more complete and mentally prepared – not only with football but life in general,” continued the ace.

As it’s been seen, the former Inter Milan man improves the side whenever he is on the pitch. Coutinho’s explosive return from ‘injury’ was exactly the tonic the team needed as he chipped in with vital performances.

Having a player of his caliber in the squad will also help to attract new recruits, who will want to play with the best players in the world. The work ethic of top players should also rub off on those around them, and that’s something that Coutinho possess.

“I have never wanted to settle, because I know that improvement is something that doesn’t stop,” he stated. “There are always new things you can pick up and many ways to develop. I’m happy with how much I’ve grown, but I’m not finished yet.”

Keeping Coutinho will also be a massive show of strength by Klopp and the staff. It’ll resonate across the football landscape and show the ‘big’ teams that they can’t bully the team into selling their best players.

As the international break finally approaches its end, Liverpool will be getting their squad ready to face Southampton and transfer target Virgil van Dijk.

Before the break the Reds were riding high on a crest of good performances in the Champions and Premier League, but the real test will be now. Were those good results because of an undeniable quality or were they simply down to momentum?
