Liverpool fans have reacted with anger to a defender’s performance in their Champions League draw with Sevilla.

The Reds were leading 3-0 after 30 minutes but managed to blow their lead as the Spanish side completed a remarkable comeback in the dying minutes of the fixture.

Guido Pizarro scored during injury times to clinch the draw as Yassim Ben Yedder hit two second half goals as Liverpool’s defence flopped and flailed.

And Kop anger has turned towards Alberto Moreno, who gave away a free kick and penalty that led to two of the strikes.

Moreno had been praised recently for turning around his form, but it was back to the drawing board for the left-back after his performance on Tuesday night.

It proved that fans have a short memory after the 25-year-old was hailed for his effort against Southampton.

But it wasn’t just supporters who queued up to stick the boot in: publications up and down the country slaughtered Moreno and gave him poor match ratings.

ESPN handed the former Sevilla player a 3/10, the Liverpool Echo gave him a four while the Express were kinder and handed the defender a five.
